This year we launched our Children's Charter of Rights, which names the rights every child holds in our care and makes them real in everyday practice. It is our public commitment to children as capable citizens whose voices and ideas shape their own learning. More than 85 years of research-led practice sits behind it.

Qualifications Pathways Program
Lady Gowrie Queensland is proud to work in partnership with the Queensland Government as one of nine organisations delivering the Qualifications Pathways Program (QPP) across Queensland. The QPP provides scholarships with wrap-around mentoring support for early childhood educators to undertake further study and upgrade their qualifications, supporting career pathways from Certificate III and Diploma qualifications through to Graduate Diploma and Bachelor pathways in early childhood education.
Through the QPP, Lady Gowrie Queensland supports educators with access to financial supports, individualised coaching and mentoring, practical study and placement support, and professional learning opportunities designed to strengthen confidence, capability and long-term career growth. This opportunity is open to eligible Lady Gowrie Queensland employees, as well as educators working in non-aligned early childhood education and care services, whether employed in a casual, part-time or full-time role. A limited number of scholarships for Certificate III and Diploma students are available, and we are currently taking a waitlist for Graduate Diploma and Bachelor students wishing to take part.

At Gowrie SA, we know that family-centred learning can build parents’ and carers’ confidence and capability to support their child’s development. Teach-Do-Learn brings parents/carers and children together to learn by doing, engaging in play and everyday learning experiences alongside qualified early childhood educators and allied health professionals.
Teach-Do-Learn has become a trusted and supportive space where families feel safe to ask questions, reflect on their choices, and gain the reassurance needed to build confidence in their parenting decisions. The program creates opportunities for families to learn alongside their children, while drawing on the expertise of professionals to support children’s development and respond to individual family needs.
Operating since 2022, the program is designed to be accessible, strengths-based and responsive to community needs. Explicitly linked to the Australian Early Development Census developmental domains and Early Years Learning Framework, Teach-Do-Learn builds families’ capability to take what they learn beyond the program and into everyday life. In doing so, it strengthens parent/carer-child relationships, supports children’s learning and development, and creates more opportunities for children to learn and thrive.

Lady Gowrie Tasmania partners with the Department for Education, Children and Young People (DECYP) to deliver Working Together (WT), supporting 32 children across 8 services who may otherwise face barriers to participating in early learning. We are proud to partner in delivering this program that makes a meaningful difference to children and families, strengthens the capability of our educators, helps build inclusive practice and contributes to stronger educational and life outcomes for Tasmanian children.
Lady Gowrie Tasmania supports, collaborates with and invests in the future of the communities we serve. We work closely with with families, educators, schools, governments and trusted partners to transfer ownership or create purpose-built education and care environments for communities in need, sometimes at short notice. Each project creates a play and learning environment where children feel safe and belong, educators are supported to flourish, and families know their children are valued.

Last year Gowrie Victoria supported 464 early learning services through professional learning programs, mentored 396 early career teachers, hosted 116 professionals on study tours and facilitated 284 network events for teachers across Victoria.
Our approach to adult learning is practical. We translate theory into practice, by sharing learning that happens in our services and insights from our own team, and supporting educators to reflect and improve their practice, and explore new ideas that might work in their own context. We deliver several programs for the Victoria Department of Education and offer our own learning programs which are flexible and tailored, blending modules and resources on the Gowrie Learning Hub, study tours, communities of practice and workshops, all wrapped around by coaching or mentoring that support people to apply their learning.

At Gowrie WA, we listen to children, value their ideas, and provide opportunities to assist them to shape their own learning. By bringing together care, learning, wellbeing, strong relationships, and community connection, we support all aspects of early childhood and work alongside families to build confidence, belonging and a lifelong love of learning.
